CUER Joins Operation Backpack

Hard to believe, but it is almost time for back-to-school here in New York City.?? One of the CUNY Law School Center for Urban Environmental Reform (CUER)???s top priorities is the stark inequality in educational opportunities for many New York City children who live in environmental justice communities. Over the coming year, we will be engaged in a research project about the noise levels in Title I schools, many of which in Queens and the Bronx are located near the elevated trains, and the effects of elevated noise levels on learning.

To start out this project, CUER is teaming up with Operation Backpack??to provide needy NYC school children with backpacks and school supplies.?? We got a late start this year–not joining until after summer school and bar prep at CUNY Law had ended.?? But, next year we will be raising money and collecting supplies all summer long.
